Formed in 2006 by Nick McDowell and Gene Rigby, GN Groundworks Ltd has become an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Telford. With our team of staff, registered skilled site operatives and our own plant, we work on projects across the West Midlands region covering Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands conurbation, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. We have an established pool of over 60 personnel who are trained and hold the relevant CSCS/CPCS cards that are rigorously maintained by our in-house team to ensure compliance and our capability.

Safety is our number one priority and to assure our clients, we hold accreditations with CHAS, Constructionline, Alcumus Safe Contractor and Avetta. In line with our ISO 9001 Quality Management accreditation, our Directors Nick and Gene take an active role in ensuring we deliver our projects to the highest possible quality standards.

Our experience has involved working on a wide range of projects, from Section 38 housing infrastructure and groundworks to major highway improvements and Section 278 schemes. Since the company was established, we have built up an impressive portfolio of national and regional clients including Balfour Beatty Living Places, Eurovia Contracting, Fitzgerald Contractors Ltd, McPhillips Wellington Ltd, Wrekin Housing Trust, KRM Contractors and TC Homes.

Our experience in civil engineering and groundworks for these clients encompasses a variety of trades including earthworks, drainage, paving, kerbing, concrete works, surfacing, footway and highway construction and retaining walls. As we continue to grow our capability and resources, our impressive track record has enabled us to build a business that continues to go from strength to strength.

Flexible Working for Clients’ Requirements

To assist our clients to achieve their goals, we adopt a flexible approach to working and we are able to offer our services based on a labour and plant or labour, plant and material basis depending on our clients’ specific requirements. We can further work either as a Principal Contractor or as a trusted supply chain partner on projects with work packages up to £1 million in value.
