Scope of Work:

This project was delivered in partnership with Balfour Beatty Living Places as part of the Telford and Wrekin Term Contract. Routine monitoring of structures across the Borough necessitated this project as a priority as the retaining wall had deteriorated to the point where intervention was required to prevent collapse. Movement of the structure had also resulted in extensive cracking in the adjacent footway and carriageway. The project involved the reconstruction of a retaining wall adjacent to the highway along with landscaping works on the adjacent residents’ properties and gardens. The works were undertaken under full and partial road closures and our works incorporated the following scope:

• Excavation to accommodate new pre-cast retaining wall structure
• Reconstruction of walls, steps and brick outbuilding
• Construction of hard landscaped areas
• Regrading and topsoiling of residents’ gardens
• Installation of new turf to gardens
• Repairs to handrails
• Reconstruction of footway and carriageway including installation of new kerbs
• Resurfacing of footway and carriageway
