Scope of Work:

This was a Cycle Lane Improvement Scheme delivered in partnership with Eurovia Contracting for Derby City Council. The works were delivered as part of the Council’s joint initiative with Nottingham City Council and funded as part of a joint £161 million bid to the Department for Transport’s through the “Transforming Cities” initiative. The works were delivered in two phases consisting of the following:

Phase 1

• Excavation for new footway formation
• Cellweb root protection barrier and drainage filter stone
• Full construction of new cycleway
• Gabions to embankment to protect from potential landslip
• Installation of new kerbing and edgdings
• Carriageway reinstatements
• Street lighting ducting and street lighting installation
• Installation of pedestrian handrail
• Soft landscaping reinstatements consisting of topsoiling

Phase 2

• Site clearance and tree removal
• Excavation for new footway formation
• Installation of new filter drain
• Installation of new edgdings
• Full construction of new cycleway
• Street lighting ducting and street lighting installation
• Installation of road signs and foundations
• Soft landscaping reinstatements consisting of topsoiling
